Ian and Julie Wood, the artist’s son and daughter, are presently completing a Catalogue Raisonne of their father’s works. This was begun by the artist himself in the days of black and white photography. He made over one thousand images of his works and kept a handwritten record of nearly all his early paintings. The earliest images are black and white photos, but later he took Kodakchrome colour slides, and ceased the handwritten recording, instead relying on his exhibition catalogues. Preparation for the publication of the book included turning many of these colour slides into prints for the publisher to select from. With this work done it seemed only natural to continue the cataloging of the works. Consequently there are now over two and a half thousand documented works. Private collectors have been contributing to this record with extra digital images and information on both documented and previously unknown works. Eventually we hope to publish the database of works and images as a tribute to a man we loved whose works many felt were undervalued by the glitterati of the modern art world, but a man who found success on his own terms.
